The Monson Council on Aging/Senior Center offers these van trips to Monson Seniors only. Thank you.
The Monson Council on Aging / Senior Center operates two handicapped accessible vans to provide transportation to residents age 60 and over and for those under age 60 who are physically challenged. This service operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. The van must be back at the Center by 3:00 pm. Effectove June 7, 2010, long distance trips (i.e. Springfield, Worcester, Belchertown, etc.) are scheduled on Monday or Wednesdays only.
TRANSPORTATION DONATIONS
The following is a list of suggested donations for various roundtrips provided by the Monson COA vans.
- Trips in Monson – $2.00
- To Palmer -- $3.00
- To Malls -- $5.00
- To Wal-Mart -- $5.00
- Long Distance Trips -- $5.00+
- Volunteer Drivers -- $10.00+ for trips to Springfield, Belchertown or Ware areas and $15.00+ for Worcester or farther. Plus any tolls or paid parking.
MEDICAL TRIPS - The van provides service to doctors and medical facilities in Monson and the surrounding areas.
VOLUNTEER DRIVERS - If van scheduling is not available, arrangements may be made with a Volunteer Driver in his / her vehicle.
GROCERY SHOPPING - Each Tuesday afternoon, the van transports seniors to Adams, IGA grocery store on Main Street, Monson.
DISCOUNT STORE SHOPPING - Once a month, the van transports seniors to Wal-Mart. Check Newsletter for schedule.
MALL SHOPPING - Once a month, the van transports seniors to the Eastfield or Holyoke Mall. Check Newsletter for schedule.
VAN TRIPS - From time to time, the Council on Aging / Senior Center sponsor van trips to local attractions. In the past we have gone to the Norman Rockwell Museum, Bright Nights, and Big E. Check Newsletter for Schedule.

Scheduling is done on a first come first service basis, so it is advised to call early.
