The census is used to aid in projections for school enrollment, public safety and senior citizens’ needs and for certain privileges such as some veterans’ benefits and reduced tuition rates at State colleges and universities. In order to apply for these benefits, residents are required to show proof of residency. The street list is used to provide this proof.
Election law requires that every voter who did not respond to the Annual Street Listing be sent a card confirming their residence in Monson. If you receive a card, please complete ALL information, sign, and return the card as quickly as possible. Voters who do not return the cards must be removed from the active voters’ list. Voters returning cards with incomplete information or cards which have not been signed will not be updated and will remain as inactive voters. Each card must be signed only by the voter to whom it was addressed.
If you have any questions, please call the Clerk's office at 267-4115.
