Off. James Dagenais continues to perform the duties of SALT Liason Officer. SALT is an acronym for Seniors and Law Enforcement Together and is a cooperative effort of the Monson Police Department, the Monson Council on Aging and Monson’s senior citizens.
SALT provides for a forum for seniors and law enforcement to share needs and concerns and develop positive solutions. Its primary goals are to increase and improve senior crime prevention and education, improve local law enforcement's knowledge of the crime prevention needs of seniors, the identification of concerns of our local senior citizens and to improve senior victim assistance.
Although Off. Dagenais is a part-time officer on this department, he holds regular office hours to address the needs of our senior community and is also available for special events and for issues occurring outside his normal work hours.
