R.A.D. Women's Program
Could YOU Effectively Defend Yourself If Attacked??
The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques. The RAD system is a comprehensive course for women that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on self defense training. It is not a martial arts program.
The course is taught by nationally certified RAD instructors and provides each student with a student workbook/manual. The manual outlines the entire physical defense program, which further serves as an information source after completion of the course.
RAD is a 15 hour course designed for women ages 13 and older. Classes are usually broken down into 5, 3 hour sessions offered during the evening hours.
Our Instructional Objective:
"To develop and enhance the options of self defense, so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked."
Rape Statistics
* 1 out of every 4 college women polled was sexually assaulted at college. (Ms. Magazine Study of Sexual Assault and Rape)
* Somewhere in America, a woman is sexually assaulted every two minutes. (U.S. Department of Justice)
*Between 1973 and 1987 (14 years), over 2.3 million women reported sexual assaults in the United States. 71% of these victims AVOIDED being raped by taking self-defense protective measures. (U.S. Department of Justice)
