TRASH UPDATE- 12/06/2022

*** Republic Services has asked if residents could put a sign on the old trash barrels they would like to dispose of. If your old barrel was not picked up this week please put a "take me" sign on it and leave it at curbside and Republic will pick up on your next scheduled trash day.

First round of cart deliveries was completed on Tuesday Nov. 15th. Republic began delivering carts to those residents that were missed. They had anticipated completion by Monday Nov. 28th but are now waiting on additional carts to be delivered by their distributor. This may take additional days to complete. If you do not receive your carts by days end on Dec. 16th, please call the Board of Health at 413-267-4107 to report your address. If you received carts and you do not participant in the trash program, please call the BOH so we can arrange a pickup those trash carts delivered in error. If you have an alternate trash hauler and wish to recycle you will need to negotiate this option with your hauler or set up a new account with Republic services. We will update you when we have confirmation of all residents receiving their allotted carts.

*If you would like to purchase additional trash carts you may call Republic Services at 413-557-6700 to exchange your delivered 65-gallon cart for a 95-gallon upgraded cart for an addition fee of $40.00 or to order an additional 65-gallon cart for $75.00.

Until every trash participant has received all their allotted carts, Republic Services will pick up all trash (barrels or bags) left at curbside!

We thank you for your continued patience.

Monson Trash/Recycling Guidelines

Please ensure that your trash and recycling carts are placed at the curb by 6:00am on your scheduled service day. Please place carts with the lid opening facing the road with wheels facing your home, and at least 3 feet away from other objects.  Do not park in front of your carts.  Do not overstuff your carts as this may cause the bags or cardboard to become stuck and not be fully emptied. Place all material in your Republic Services carts. No other carts will be accepted. Recycling is now Single Stream. You will no longer need to separate your recycling materials. Please do not put recycling in plastic bags. For Bulk pick up; requests are made using the BULK PICK-UP REQUEST FORM. Occasionally, especially during weather events, it is possible for drivers to miss picking up your trash or recycling that has been placed at the curb on its scheduled day. IF YOUR TRASH OR RECYCLING WAS NOT PICKED UP AS SCHEDULED OR YOU HAVE A SERVICE ISSUE, PLEASE CALL REPUBLIC SERVICES.
