Parks and Playgrounds

The Town of Monson is home to many beautiful public parks, hiking areas, and outdoor recreation sites.  The following list highlights some of the amenities that our parks have to offer:

Conant Brook Dam:  Hiking, Mountain Biking, Fishing, Hunting, Cross-Country Skiing, Snow Shoeing, and more.

Dave Grieve Park:  Gazebo and General Recreation.

Flynt Park:  Playground, Athletic Fields (including Doctor Rogers Fields), Hiking Trials, Mt. Ella Scenic Area, and General Recreation.

Flynt Quarry:  Hiking and Historical Exploration.

Keep Homestead:  Hiking, Cross Country Skiing, Snow Shoeing, and General Recreation.

Miller's Park: A wonderful, peaceful, park exists at 221 Hovey Road in Monson for parties, reunions and for civic organizations like the scouts. The park was started in 1976 by the descendants of Robert and Amy Miller who raised eighteen children on their farm on Hovey Road. The park is named "Miller Memorial Park" in memory of Robert and Amy and for five of their son's who served in World War II and for one son who was missing in action in the Korean Conflict. The family formed a charity in 1980, Miller Memorial Association, Inc. with the purpose of recreation and preservation of wildlife and forests. If anyone would like to reserve the park for a function, please call 413-682-4374. The facility includes a pavilion, kitchen, and toilets.

Peaked Mountain:  Explore woods roads through a former working forest and trek to a summit that rewards with panoramic views from Mount Wachusett to Vermont’s Green Mountains. 

Veteran's Field:  Playground, Basketball Court, Skatepark, Athletic Fields, Exercise Equipment, Tennis Courts, and General Recreation.
