Town Collector

Mission Statement

Responsible for the billing and collection of all town billed revenue due and owing to the Municipality such as taxes, certain license fees, user's fees, permits, violations, and other department receivables which have been committed for collection. Masschusetts General Laws on Taxation, Chapters 41, 44, 58, 59, 60, 60A, 80 and 90 provide the manner through which the collector derives the authority to proceed to collect and enforce the collection of taxes and all miscellaneous categories committed to them. The Town Collector works under the direction of the Finance Director for the town. PUBLIC HOURS: Monday Thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

"As Town Collector it is my mission and sworn duty to ensure the efficient, effective, timely collection of all monies due to the Town of Monson, while providing the highest level of customer service to Monson Taxpayers." Cash flow is the most important and essential responsibility of this department.
